This year we got some Sea World passes. Here is Micah and daddy in the sky buckets which are free now...awesome! I love going to Sea World...these creatures are so beautiful. But there was one the other day that just made me laugh. It was the Walrus...it was one huge mass of blubber, with really silly looking feet flippers, enormous 2 front teeth and really long whiskers. He plopped himself out of the water and scooted his massive weight at about .0001 mph to get in the shade. Seeing these amazing creatures reminds me that we serve one creative awesome God. I love seeing His beauty in creation. Thank you Lord for sea animals...it is a joy to watch them and see your beauty!

Just recently I was having a conversation with a friend who wanted to start blogging again. We both agreed that it seems like blogging has died a bit and FB has taken over. We went to "Bates Nut Farm" recently to visit the Pumpkin Patch.
We did a maze, tractor ride, petting zoo and I came home with almost a pound of fudge that I have been snacking on for the past week :) Im just getting ready for the holidays a little early...I couldn't wait :)

On Halloween we pretty much set up camp out front with a bon fire, marshmallows, pizza and candy to pass out to all the trick or treaters. Micah had so much fun...he has been asking to roast marshmallows for the past 2 months. It was fun...we ended up just hanging out with a couple of our neighbors out front since the numbers of trick or treaters was pretty low.

For the past couple of weeks Shane has been doing a lot in the yard to prepare it for some grass...I am so excited! Micah and Abby love spending time with dad in the yard as you can see.

Micah and daddy love going to the high school football games. Micah loves them and even cheers on the players. Abby and I usually have a girls night in the nice warm house :)

Mondays are usually Shane's full day off. I love it because we usually have a slow morning and I have time to make us all some banana pancakes...yummy!

New York

For my 30th birthday this year I got blessed with an amazing trip to New York City with my mom, sister and aunt...my good friend Erin who lives in Philadelphia and have known since I was 6 joined us for a couple days as well. Some of our adventures included a show off Broadway "West Side Stories," a tour of upper Manhattan, the Metropolitan Museum of art, The Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, the Empire State Building, and really yummy pizza, pastrami, pasta and gelato. The shopping was awesome, especially the street vendors...got some great deals. Our rooms were super nice at the Westin and I couldn't wait to get in my comfy plush bed each night. I need to thank my sister for planning and navigating our whole trip, we would have been so lost without her. Thank you mom and sissy for such an awesome gift...we made so many great memories on this trip and I will cherish them forever. I praise God for each one of you and am so thankful for you and this time we had together. Love you!

The Blueberry Farm

This morning we went to the Temecula Bluberry Farm with my MOPS group. Micah did such a great job and I kept reminding him to pick the purple ones and not the green ones...we did not get one green in the whole bunch :) He even washed them when we got home...and ate plenty...he loves blueberries! We had such a fun morning...we will definitely do this again.

The Dairy Farm

On Friday we went to the local dairy farm with my MOPS group. I love it...Shane's schedule is so flexible he has made it on a couple of our field trips...Micah especially loves having daddy along :) We got to feed the cows...their tongues were surprisingly very long. At the end of the tour we got to enjoy some cookies at chocolate milk....which really tasted like a milk shake....thank you cows!

San Diego Balloon Parade

On Wednesday we went to San Diego for a balloon parade. We met friends down there really early and got a good spot. While waiting for the parade to start we ate donuts, played football and watched some wiener dog races (which was pretty hillarious). Overall it was an awesome time with family and friends!

It has been a long time since I've blogged that I actually forgot how to load an image...well I am back and ready to blog again :) Here is all of us visiting with my family in Tucson. We love it here so much and look forward to Tucson every Thanksgiving. We were all in vacation mode...eating, sleeping, hanging out and going on quite a few merry go rounds and trains. We loved it and I love these times when we can all be together :)

"RBC Beach Day"

On Friday our church had an all day beach day. Micah had so much fun playing in the sand and this little kitty pool I was shocked he went in since he hates cold water....I was so proud of him!

Later in the day it was awesome because we had baptisms as well, and Shane had the privledge of baptizing a couple of his students right there in the ocean. It was such a great day with the fam and church body. And yes Abby is still in my belly. She will be coming on Wednesday if not, then sooner :)

These girls are so dear to me and have been such a huge blessing in my life. They came over the other night and surprised me with some beautiful yellow roses....that are still making me smile every time I look at them. It was such a joy hanging out with them and just being in there presence...they make me laugh so much. I miss our Saturday mornings together, but I know that even though I am unable to meet up with them like we used to, they will always have someone praying for them. I love you girls and thank the Lord so much for bringing each of you into my life.

This weekend Shane and I had a chance to get away before our new little arrival. Friday evening we went to Beachcombers Cafe at Crystal cove for dinner, then drove to a condo in Oceanside that we were staying at for the weekend. I woke up early and spent some time on the beach...the waves were perfect, next time we are bringing the boards :) Then once my hubby was up we headed over to Ruby's on the pier for breakfast. We just relaxed on the beach and hung out by the pool for the day. That evening our friends Shaina and Jason arrived and we went to the Carlsbad outlets then to Islands for dinner. We went back to the condo for some games and junk food. We left Sunday morning and went to one of my favorite places to eat "The Corner Bakery" we don't have one out in Temecula so whenever I am in the OC I love to go there :) It was a great ending to our weekend...thank you Lord for an awesome weekend with just my hubby!

Mother's Day

For Mother's day we went out to visit my mom, sister and aunt, and had a BBQ. The minute I got there Micah was out of my site off playing with his cousins. I didn't see too much of him during our visit. It was nice though because I got to enjoy some time with my sister, mom and aunt :)

In the morning there was a little surprise Shane and Micah had left for me. Cards are a big deal to me and I got one from each of my boys :) I also got a gift card to massage envy which I cannot wait to use. And from my little man I got his handprint in this little mold with hearts around it...yes it made me cry. Thank you honey for such a great Mother's Day!!!

I can't believe you are 2 years old today...it feels like not to long ago I was holding you as a tiny little baby. I love watching you grow daily and seeing the kind of person you are becoming. Already I notice your sensitive spirit and the joy you have for life. I love how passionate you are about your cars and trains...it is so cute seeing your face light up when you see cars or watch choo-choo videos. I also like hearing the words you are beginning to say...my favorite is "Applesauce" :) You are a joy to daddy and I, and we praise God for giving you to us. We love you so much!!! Womens Retreat

God did great things up at our annual Womens Retreat last weekend. It was awesome to see the unity and love our group had. I was also blessed to be apart of the worship team which is a pic of us all here. I was a little nervous not having had picked up the guitar in a couple of years, but I prayed and God helped me with much practice to play again...and it was a blast! I am so blessed with a husband who loves God and desires to honor Him with his life. I rarely ever see him complain about anything and he is always thinking of others before himself. Thank you Lord for Shane and that I have a man that seeks you first and cares deeply to please and honor you with his life. Thank you for Micah and these first 2 years with him so far, it has been such an amazing journey so far being a mother and now another little blessing is on the way. I am overwhelmed with joy for our children...being a mother is one of the greatest gifts and I could never had imagined what this would be like. The greatest blessing of all is your son Jesus and I love how I can continue to get to know you Lord and mature as a daughter of the great high king. Last Night....

at "Chick-fil-et" there mascot the cow was there for Kids Night. As I was walking in I was thinking cool Micah will love this guy. How wrong was I....as we were waiting in line to order he kept looking at him and holding tightly to Shane. We tried to sit as far away from where the cow was as possible, but it didn't help much since he cruised right on over to the area where we were sitting. Micah was terrified, he was crying and tried to get out of the high chair and get into one of our laps. He barely even ate one fry he was so shooken up. Shane was determined to conquer our sons fear of the cow...so on our way out he held him close to the cow and asked him to give him a five. There was no way he was going to touch the cow, but he was able to settle down and at least get close to him without crying :) Way to go dad!

This is my parents new puppy dog and she is such a cutie. Growing up I always wanted a dog and we got one, but it ended up being a viscious attacker so we had to get rid of it. Anyways, I am so happy they have one now. Micah and I had so much fun playing with her this weekend when we were visiting. She is a 2 month old shihtzu and she is such a good dog already only being 2 months old. Maybe Shane will let me get one someday...I told him when we are empty nesters I want to get a dog and he can get his dream car...a VW bus :)

Eventful Weekend

On Friday night I had some girls from MOPS come over for a comfie pajama night. I had plans of some games and a movie, but we ended up around a table of goodies for 4 hours just talking, sharing stories and laughing. I now feel even closer to these girls and I can't wait to spend time together again :)

On Saturday we had Shane's family out to celebrate his bother's birthday...during the day I, his mom and sister went to Target and Micah had a major spill out of the cart. There was a horrible sound when he hit the floor and my heart droped. God amazed me though...From the look and sound I thought for sure it was bad. But there was nothing, and he calmed pretty quickly when the store clerk got him a red cherry icee. Thank you Lord for protecting Micah...You were definitely with him. Well in the evening we all celebrated Vinnie's B-Day at Harry's Pacific Grill with some tasty appetizers and dinner, then with some Mud Pie at our house. It was a great day!

On Sunday after chruch we hosted homefellowship then immediately after had a Super Bowl Party. The kids played, the boys watched the game and we ate some great dip...nothing beats Shaina's artichoke dip...mmmmmmmm! Bummer the Cardinal's lost but at least it was a good game :) Well that was our weekend...I wish I had some pic's to post, but sometimes I forget to use the camera...oh well!

Big Brother

Thanksgiving in Tucson

We left eary Tuesday morning to celebrate Thanksgiving week with our family in Tucson AZ. Micah did pretty well on the drive...sometimes we just have to let him cry, on our way out we stopped at Ikea to get some of that energy out. Anyways we had a full week of activities and super yummy food. Micah loves playing with all his cousins which was a nice break for me :) It went by way too fast, and I am already looking forward to next year. Thank you Sissy for the awesome time, we enjoy being there with all of you so much!!!

My sister Jenni tagged me forever ago to write 7 random things about myself...so here I go :)

1. 1-4 is one of my favorite times of the day. I adore being home with my little man all day but his nap from 1-4 is like gold. It's a time to rest, get the to do things done, catch up on emails, read, and get refreshed in the Lord. Right now I am going through Acts and it is awesome to see how eager the early church was to preach the gospel, which leads to the next thing.

2. I want to share the gospel much more then I do. It is the most important news we should be sharing. Many of us I think get afraid to share it because we may get the wrong impression and think its a message of condemnation and judgement? So we may think it might turn people off, when really its a message of hope and salvation, and living forever with God. If we are believers in Christ Jesus we need to be just as eager as the early church to get this message out :)

3. On a lighter note, I love surprises!
Before Shane and I were married he would surprise me at least a couple times a month with something. Whether it be a cool date, flowers or a simple note on my car. He still does occassionally, and it brings a huge smile to my face...I love you honey :)

4. When I was a little girl I was pretty much a boy in a little girls body. I hated dresses and dolls and I remember my sister would like to dress me up and do my hair and I hated it. It wasn't until junior high I wore a dress...thats when I think I embraced being a girl and accepted it. I still have a little bit of that tom boy in me. I prefer playing some kind of physical sport much more then shopping or sitting around and talking.

5. I just recently really started to love reading. I never read novels before, until this summer. My friend Shaina lended me a great novel called, "Redeeming Love" by Francine Rivers. It is a modern day version of the book of Hosea. It is about a man who persues the love of a prostitute, and shows her unconditional love. It was such a great book I went on to read another. Thanks to my friend I have now become a reader and I am enjoying it so much...Thanks Shaina!

6. 75% of my television watching is the food network. I love food, and I love watching these entertaining chefs make such deliscious meals. Sometimes I wish I could stick my fork in the TV and have a bite of that yummy beautiful meal. Especially Paula Dean, her dishes make my mouth water...why do I do that to myself?

7. I am a total art geek. I sometimes watch utube videos of people painting and try to pick up different techniques and tips on oil painting. There are also two artist blogs that I check out daily to see their daily painting. One is Duane Kieser and the other Abbey Ryan. They both have similar styles and paint everyday objects...such as a spool of thread, a cracked egg or a lolipop. I love that they can make such simple things look so beautiful. I have been inspired by them and I have painted a PB&J, a blueberry muffin and some sea shells. Next I think I might want to try some Hot Wheel cars and put the paintings up in Micah's room.

Our new home

In a few weeks we will be the owners of this house. For the past ten months we have been on the hunt for a house and after many turn down offers and rejections we finally got a yes...this is the home that was meant for us :) We are so excited to own a home and have it be ours. I have already visited Home Depot and Lowes to pick out colors for the rooms and bathrooms that need to be painted, I can't wait...I love color and I am thrilled to make it our own. The home is about 2300 sq ft, and has 5bed and 3baths. It's also at the end of a cul-de-sac which makes it great for kids to play and another plus is that there are no neighbors behind us. Right next door is a family in the church who has a daughter in the youth group. Her reaction was funny when Shane told her he was going to be her neighbor. They also have two little lab dogs that are super cute and Micah just adores :) Thank you Lord for providing the opportunity for us to own a home...You are so good!

10k Race

In September some ladies and I from our church got together to run a 10k race in El Monte. We were suppose to do a 5k but we did the 10k instead. We all finished and enjoyed a delicious meal at In-n-Out afterwards :)

We had our 2nd anual Fall Harvest Festival at church tonight. It was neat because this year Micah was able to go in the bounce house, go down the slide and play a couple of games...at one I was so proud of him he threw two ping pongs into a cup. We enjoyed free hotdogs, cotton candy, pop corn and churros. By the end of the night he was falling asleep on daddy during the strongest man competition. It was a great night of fellowship with the body at RBC :)

In Old Town Orange the venders close shop and pass out candy to all the kids. It's a tradition for my sister and her boys every year and this is Micah and I's second year going with them. Even though I don't live in Orange anymore I still love to come down and do these special little events with my family. Orange will always feel like home to me no matter where we go.

18 months

Today Micah is 1 1/2 years old...I can't believe it. He is talking more, playing cars and making noises with anything that moves, he can climb the jungle gym and go down the slide by himself, and he is getting pretty good with his utensils and can drink his sippy cup on his own w/out any help. He loves books and giggles when I read to him....he loves his daddy and lights up when he gets home and follows him around every where he goes. He is a bundle of joy and fun, and I praise God for giving us such an amazing wonderful little boy that is ours to raise and grow in life with...thank you Lord for Micah!

Bate's Nut Farm

On Friday a group of us from church took a field trip down to Bate's Nut Farm in Escondido...there was an amazing beautiful pumpkin patch there...we were all so thankful for nice cool fall weather. Included with our pumpkin we got to do a corn maze and a hay ride...I opted out on the corn maze though, it was packed, I had the stroller, and plus Micah really didn't seem to care either way :) At the end of our day we enjoyed some yummy pumkin pie fudge and had a picnic lunch with all our friends.

Dodgeball

On Saturday night the RBC youth group had a dodgeball tournament at a local park in Temecula. The kids had so much, and it was awesome to because some kids that were at the skate park joined us and had a blast. Some kids shared there testimonies about what God had done in there lives and with that, the gospel was shared as well. God was honored at this crazy, neon, fun dodgeball tournament night. Thank you Lord for blessing this time of fellowship with all the kids...You are good!

Carpinteria

This week we went camping up at Carpinteria which is about 15 minutes south of Santa Barbara. My sister got a group site and invited about 12 families. It was such a great time...I never new camping could be so much fun. We spent long hours on the beach, road bikes, ate lots of yummy food, watched boys play light sabers, celebrated birthdays, and thanks to Gina we had some hilarious times around the camp fire. It was so awesome, we can't wait to camp again...thanks jen for inviting us :)

I thinks there were a total of like 20 light sabers on camp...guess what we're getting for Micah?
On Thursday we celebrated Shane's Birthday and as most of you know Shane is an ice cream man. About 25 of us road our bikes to Rainbow ice cream in town to celebrate. We were crowded in the tiny ice cream palor all singin Happy Birthday to my hubby...love you Honey, Happy 28th!

Tanner John is so special and takes such great care of Micah...we love you TJ!

Yesterday I was desperate for ideas to entertain Micah. I was talking to my sister and she had suggested to fill up a bucket of water, bring out some toys and let him play in the water. He loved it...we were outside for almost an hour. He liked the hose the best and I set it on low and he couldn't put the thing down. We will be doing this again for sure...Thanks Jenni!

If anyone has any other ideas on how to entertain a 15 month old I would be glad to take any suggestions :)

San Juan Capistrano

Shane and I got away with our friends Shaina and Jason last week to a bed in breakfast in SJC. It was awesome...when we go on vacation I love to keep busy with activities and boy did we. It was a blast and I actually felt a little exhausted when I came back. Some of my favorite activities were riding the 4 seater at Newport Beach, bowling, seeing the Sisterhood...so good! playing dice and cards while snacking on candy and chips and salsa. I had some down time with a great book in the hammock next to our room. It was one of the best times away I've had. The food was so good every night, but we ate so much the whole trip I don't ever really remember being hungry...it didn't matter though we still ate fancy dinners and had desert. Thanks Shaina and Jason for sharing this awesome vacation with us :)

The Creek

This is our beach here in Temecula. It is the creek near our church and it is great for families. You can hike through the creek, chill on the little beach or in the water, build sand casltles and plus its so beautiful...I love it!!!

Sweet!!! The Dugout Suite

Last week Shane and I got to go with my brother in law Seth who had tickets for the dugout suite for the Angels. Along with us was my dad and nephew Tanner. My sister and mom were so gracious to watch Micah so I could go. I could have never imagined watching a game from this view. We were just feet from the players and the food amazing. All you can eat buffet with drinks and then a dessert cart and I had my favroite..Carrot cake! This was the fastest baseball game I have ever been to....Thanks Seth for invitng us and thanks mom and Jenni for watching Micah :)

Birthdays, Boys and Barrela

On Saturday my friend Shaina and I had a day of pampering. We went to lunch, then she treated me to a spa pedicure for my birthday then afterwards we got massages at massage envy...it was amazing!!!

Here are our beautiful french manicures :)

In the evening we all went out to dinner to Islands and then we saw Dark Knight...so good!!!

And the free birthday mocha mud pie was also so good!!!

On Friday I came out to celebrate with my sister on her birthday...my mom took us all out for lunch at Bagel Me in the circle. Micah and the boys were so excited to see eachother. A couple things happened that made me see even more how great these boys are. Tanner came up to my sister with a busted lip and Tanner did'nt want to say what happened because he didn't want to tell on Micah. In a low murmer he said "it didn't hurt" it was the cutest thing. Then at lunch Isaiah gave micah this really yummy apple sauce. Isaiah totally liked it and I had a motts one for Micah but Isaiah wanted him to have the good stuff. You boys are great...we love you!

Friday evening my mom, Micah and I went down to the fair to see my dads band play....we did a few things before the show started.

My dad has played in the band Barrela for over ten years and on Friday night they gave a great show. They played Chicago, Earth Wind in Fire and many other great songs that I love to dance to. Awesome show dad!!!

"Art Night"

My friend Gwen who I had met at MOPS is an artist and we have been talking for awhile about getting together to paint. So on Tuesday night we had our first official "Art Night." She had converted her garage into an art studio and when I walked in I was in heaven. Beautiful still life objects, tables, comfy chairs, great lighting, easles, canvases....I was pretty stoked! I brought my friend Jessie with me and along with us was Gwen, one of her students, her mom and a neighbor. The evening was filled with great art, tastey treats, good music, and some fun fellowship with friends. Its happening once a month at her house and I am thrilled to do this again :)

High School Retreat

It has been a fun week camping with 20 high schoolers at San Onofre Beach... I love hanging out with these students. We surfed, played super hero smash, ate dough boys and had some awesome fellowship with God and with eachother. Its only been a day and I already miss them. I praise God for allowing me to be apart of such an awesome ministry...God is so good!

Jen's Shower

On Saturday my friend Jessica and I through a shower for our good friend Jen. She is due in August to have a boy. She loves childrens books so we themed the shower to be like a library. Jessica had done most of the decorating and she did an amazing job...I got to have fun with the cupcakes. I was so excited to help through this shower for Jen...she is a great friend and so special to me...I can't wait to meet baby Elias :)

Hume Lake

Shane went to Hume Lake Christian Camp with the Junior Highers last week. Hume is such a fun place to be...whether your a camper, on staff or just family camping, it is a beautiful place...I can't wait to go again, I think its been about 3 years...maybe next year :)

Family & The 4th

Last week we went out to Orange County to visit with Shane's family the day before the 4th since his sister and brother in law were out visiting from Colorado. We went to Beach Combers Restraunt for dinner out at Crystal Cove. It was such a beautiful evening at the beach...enjoying some yummy food, time with family and watching the sunset. Micah even found a friend to play with...she was twice his age!

Every year my sister has a 4th of July block party and she invites family and many of her friends to come join. There was a water slide, the kids did a bike parade, and we ended the evening with some great food and fireworks. With each year it gets even better :) Thanks Jenni for inviting us, it was a great time!

My friend Shaina and her family take Micah and I to the beach quite a bit and I love it. Micah enjoys the sand and Ainsley so much. She loves to take care of him and its so cute. She feeds him his grapes, fishies and then his sippy cup when he's thirsty. And if he gets fussy she sticks in the binky.

Weekend at Grandma's

Last weekend Micah and I went up with my mom to my grandma's house who lives near Lake Isabella. It was quite an adventure the moment we got there. Micah was not acting himself and I soon discover he had a fever. The next 24 hours were crazy. We even had a trip to the ER in the evening but while we were waiting Micah seemed to be getting better. We decided to leave and had a pretty restless night with him waking up, and by the morning we decided it would be best to leave. I had felt bad that it had to be such a short trip but my mom and aunt completely understood and they didn't want it to be any other way. My grandma was celebrating her 90th birthday and I am so glad she had a chance to see Micah...it was all worth it :)

The other night I was eager to get out of the house...I had been home most of the day and I didn't feel like cooking. Anyways, Micah and I went to In N Out of dinner then over to Harveston park to walk around. As I was walking along I saw what had seemed to be a couple of high school girls sitting on there skateboards talking with eachother. I could hear the Lord telling me to go talk to them. I argued with the Lord but for some reason I couldn't fight it. I turned around and approached them. I told them I was a Christian and that I just wanted to talk with them and see what there views were on life, God and religion. To my surprise they were college aged girls and they were so open to talk with me. I got to share the gospel and they listened ...there was no immediate conversion or anything but I was so stoked to have this gift from the Lord to share my faith. I am always scared to witness and I am constantly telling God no it seems , but this time I listened and God worked. I will probably never know what will happen with those girls, but I am praying for there salvation and I pray God planted a seed that night in there hearts.

Mothers Day

For Mothers Day we went out to the OC to visit with family. We went to the tidepools in Laguna Beach with my family in the afernoon, then we met up with Shane's parents at one of our favorite places in the circle...Cafe Lucca. The wheather and the time spent together with family was wonderful.

For mothers day my mom got me this amazing new digital camera...I am seriously addicted to this thing. Thank you mom for such an amazing gift :)

Shane made me a card that said to the best mommy ever. The night before I was giving him a hard time about how important the card was...he came through and it was even better that it was home-made. He also got me a gift card to Massage Envie...I can't wait :) Thanks Honey!

Just Us

Last weekend Shane and I had a little get away...we went to the Hyatt Regency in Newport Beach. On Friday I had dropped off Micah at my moms house in the afternoon and then we headed out on our little vacation. That evening we dined at the Cheesecake factory in Fashion Island then walked around the shops admiring all the fancy merchandise. We ended the evening with candy bars from 7 eleven and a few games of cards. The next morning we had breakfast down in HB then Shane took me to play frisbee golf. I think by the 18th hole I got the hang of it...he even got me my own discs...Im anxious to play again :) That night we went to Macoroni Grill for dinner then saw the movie "Expelled" which I highly reccomend. The next morning we went to Calvary and it was so great to visit with many friends we havn't seen in awhile. We ended are trip having lunch at Jalepenos with our friends Jeff and Amy and there baby, Simon. I am so thankful for such a wonderful vacation...thanks honey for making this happen :)

Last night I went out to dinner to Johnny Carino's with my table from MOPS. If you haven't been there I totally recommend it...my lasagna was delicious :) We were there for almost 3 hours and the last ones to leave the restaurant. The conversations were entertaining, and probably only funny to those who have gone through labor and raise children. I am so thankful to be apart of MOPS, I have met some great friends.

Swimming

Yesterday it was almost 1oo degrees out here...I was so happy Micah and I got invited to go swimming at a friends house. My friend Jena brought her boys Shane and James, and we enjoyed a nice afternoon in a nice cool pool. Micah loved the water...I was a happy mommy :)

Last weekend I went up to Twin Peaks in Lake Arrowhead on a womens retreat with my church. It was such an enjoyable time. It was great to connect with all the ladies, eat some yummy food, worship God, and simply just getting away....it was so refreshing and I am so blessed to be apart of such an encouraging group of women.

My aunt Sissy came out to visit Micah and I from Tucson Arizona. It was so much fun to spend time with her and get her all to myself :) She is an awesome aunt and I am so blessed she would want to come out and visit. Micah took to her pretty quickly and she would often sing to him to make him happy when he got sad....it was so cute. It was actually the same song she would sing to me when I was a baby. We went to the park, out to dinner, lunch, bible study, walked through old town and even to Golds Gym which was a place I had never been before. It was so much fun...thank you Sissy for visiting!

i have been tagged by my sister Jenni, i have to list 25 things about my self. Here we go :)

1. I love Jesus...and I am so honored to be called His daughter.
2. I love watching my hubby interact with Micah.
3. I love to hear Micah's belly laugh and even when he makes his sad face and cries that's cute to.
4. I miss playing sports...but I know maybe later in life when my kids are older I will get to play with them...they better like soccer :)
5. I like to surf...and I hope also to I can do that with my kids someday.
6. I like the outdoors and prefer to be outside more then inside...but only if its not cold. I have C.E.S (cold easily syndrome)
7. Because of C.E.S. during the winter I take a warm bath almost every night.
8. I do eat dessert in the evenings about 90% of the time...preferably ice cream.
9. Golden spoon's small vanilla yogurt with Reeses peanut butter cup is one of my all time favorite desserts.
10. I take a walk just about everyday...although I am doing the mud run in June so I started to run...the hills along with Micah are killing me. I may just have to have my sister do it.
11. Being my little Micah's mother is the best job in the world.
12. I value my friendships and am so thankful for such great friends.
13. Lately I have been enjoying painting portraits...I really love landscapes...I think they make such beautiful paintings but they are something I find so difficult to paint...some day :)
14. I have been addicted to HGTV ever since we started looking for a home.

16. My favorite secular is John Mayer.
17. I love working with high school students...they love to talk and I love to listen.

19. I was the captain of my high school volleyball team and sometimes I have dreams where I am on the court playing...I seriously don't want to wake up :)
20. Ever since I stayed home from work I have become a little bit of an anal neat freak...I used to not even care if the bed was made...now it would drive me crazy.
21. My favorite kind of movies are romantic comedies..."You've got mail" 50 first dates...they're Shane's favorite to so it usually works out when we want to rent something.
22. I love a good rack of baby back pork ribs smothered in BBQ sauce.
23. Coconut Shrimp as well with some kind of tropical dipping sauce.
24. I would love to someday go to Italy, Greece and Israel
25. I am living my dream job. 6 years ago when I was waiting tables at Claim Jumper a fellow employee asked me what my dream job would be. I told them I wanted to be a stay at home mom and possibly work from home doing some kind of art.

A Night of Rock Stars

On Friday night Shane and I went to a rock star themed party. He was Bono from U2 and I was a Beastie Boy. It was so much fun, we played dance-dance revolution, sang many songs on karaoke and even made a music video to Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody. I got a copy of it and I will post if I can...its pretty funny. This was a great idea and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to through a party. Being home in the evenings now about 90% of the time has made me really come to enjoy and appreciate nights like this :)

Girls Night Out

Last Monday the high school girls and I had a little fun night out. Shane watched Micah while I got to go have some fun with the girls. We went to BJ's for dinner...mmmm so good...we even got the party size pzookie at the end and we asked the waiter to put a candle in it, we thought it would be a good night to celebrate all of our birthdays...so we sang "Happy Birthday to us." I couldn't believe we finished this 16 inch size cookie with a mountain of ice cream on it...and we managed to do it in about 5 minutes. After that we had a little photo shoot outside of BJ's, then went back to Caitie's house for a movie. We watched "Just My Luck" it turned out to be a really cute movie and clean to...a recommend it if you are ever in the mood for a chick flick.

These girls are awesome and so much fun to be with...they make me laugh so much and always bring a smile to my face whenever I am around them. Thanks girls for a wonderful night!

1st Beach Day of the year

On Monday I went to the beach with my friend Jena, her two boys and two other kids she was watching. I said she was crazy, but she said she just needed to get out. On our way down we had found out that others we knew were going to be down there as well. It was a beauitful, funfilled day with our babies and friends.

Leeland is one of my favorite bands right now and they just came out with a new album, and the lyrics are awesome. The guy who does the lead vocals for the band is a very talented song writer and I can't believe a person as young as he is can write such deep, amazing, convicting truths. Well...I actually can believe it, because its God working. If you have never checked out this band I encourage to take a listen you will not be dissapointed.

I seriously think my blog is 90% about our child and maybe 10% about other stuff. Its good though because I have to capture these moments some how, and blogging is such an easy way to do it. Its kind of like a scrapbook, only its free, takes way less time and everything is laid out for you. I do love being creative but I am pretty content with the layout and font choices I have on blogger. Plus you can download video which is something I just learned and is super easy to do. It will be so awesome when our kids are at ages where they will want to look back and see what they were like when they were babies, toddlers and who knows, I may still be documenting there lives when they are thirty and married with kids of there own. So those of you who may think my blog is mostly about my child...well, it is and I will continue to do so because scrapbooking for me is out of the question :)

Free Stuff

Who doesn't love free stuff? Some free things that stoke me are the buy one get one free yogurt coupon for Golden Spoon that comes in my mailer each month, the resturant gift cards we recieved at Christmas, even the baby formula my doctor gives me when I visit. This morning I even found 10$ in the bushes on my walk.

Yesterday though, this was a total God thing. Lately I have been talking to Shane about wanting some kind of bike trailer...the wheather has been perfect for riding bikes, and I know Micah would love it to. On Monday Shane checked one out at Play it Again Sports and it was a whopping 200 bucks! Well yesterday I went to the thrift store to drop off some old clothes we wanted to get rid of and right by the trailer I see this great looking bike trailer. I am thinking no way someone dropped this off recently and doesn't want it anymore. My eyes were fixed on it as I was walking up to the man that was recieving the goods. I told him me the story of the 200 dollar one, and he said are you serious? Take it! I was so happy I could fit it in my car.

Last night we enjoyed a nice family bike ride after dinner :)

Laundry with Micah

Every time I go to get the clothes out of the dryer or leave his sight, Micah gets so upset...sometimes I just let him, and I try and get back quickly. Today I brought him with me and put him in the hamper with all the clothes. I think he enjoyed it and loved that mommy brought him along.

The Home Search

The cost of homes out here in the IE have dropped so much...actually down to a price we could possibly afford. This seriously came out of no where...I thought we wouldn't even consider buying for at least a few more years. Its exciting and a little scary at the same time. My free time is now spent looking on the internet daily for forclosed homes...there are 1000's or at least it seems. I have learned a ton though, making this my job the past month. The banks price them high at first then each month the number drops...I watch and get kind of excited when they are just a little above our price range. I have driven all over the valley searching for the perfect neighborhood and home...I have come to realize that the neighborhood we live in is great. Its close to the freeway and even a little closer to the OC which is good for Shane with school and family. There are some homes that have forclosed in a track near us, and we even put an offer on one but we didn't get it. Its all good though...I love that God is in total control and where he wants us is where our family will be. It will be hard to leave this very beautiful and peaceful place we have off of Loring Rd...I love our home, but if the Lord wills it, we know it would be wise of us to buy a home now while the prices are affordable for us.

Our Little Man

He is nine months now and is developing this little personality that has us smiling and laughing each day. He has learned how to clap, shake his head "no" and can say mama. One thing he has definitely mastered is getting pretty upset every time I leave the room. We'll get through it though...I know all babies are attatched to there mommies...its crazy though, I never new how extreme it would be. Anyways...Its awesome being his mommy :)

My two good friends and I were all pregnant last year at the same time. Leah on the right had her baby girl Sophia in early July and Amy delivered her baby boy Simon in early November. We finally got together this weekend and visited with eachother and our babies. We were really close friends in highschool and we couldn't believe we were all together now with our babies. We walked down to the circle and had some amazing lunch at Cafe Lucca...we got to catch up on eachother's life...it was like old times but now we have babies. We shared our labor stories and Amy definitely takes the cake on that one. Over 24 hours of labor and no epideral...she's my hero! Thanks girls for keeping in touch, I hope to do this again soon :) Love You!

"My Girls"

I have know these two since they were about twelve years old...now they are in college, have jobs, and each lead a small group of highschool girls of there own. I started a small group with them when they were in 7th grade and we have been close ever since. I love them so much and it was such a treat to spend some time with them on Saturday. Shane watched Micah all day while I went snowboarding with Katelyn on the left and then Katy on the right showed up a little after we got back. I feel so blessed to still be apart of there life, and it stokes me to see how in love with Jesus they are. They encourage me so much and I pray the Lord will continue to keep us close through many more years. I love you girls!

Girls "D" Group

Once a month on Saturday mornings I meet up with some highschool girls at my house. This morning I had 3 of them here: Heather on the left, Emily then Caitie. I enjoy spending time with these girls so much and I feel so blessed to be a part of there lives. Just this morning they were sharing just about how close they felt to the Lord and what the Lord has been teaching them. It excites me so much to know these girls are seeking Jesus in there lives and want to be close to him. God teaches me so much through this ministry and I am so honored to be a part of it.

ok so I just got off the phone with Shane and I realized like many times before, his job fits him perfectly. He is on a one night retreat up at big bear with some pastors and on the phone I asked if I could call him back. His response, "Well I'm gonna go make a snowman with Matt right now," so we made the run down of our day pretty short and said goodnight. As I hung up the phone I just thanked the Lord for giving me a husband that loves to play and have fun like that...like a kid...he is going to be such a great dad, it will be a joy to watch :)

it was a perfect day of snowboarding! Shane, I and a couple of our friends went up to Mountain High yesterday to go snowboarding. The night before the snow just dumped...it was the perfect day to go :) I had not been in a couple years since last year I was pregnant, so I was pretty anxious to go. I was a little nervous...but by the end of my first run it had all come back. It was such a blessing for us to have my in-laws come out, stay the night and watch Micah while Shane and I were enjoying the day together. I praise God for blessing us with such a fun, beautiful day!

Christmas and New Years

Shane and I had so much fun celebrating Micah's first Christmas. His favorite thing was the wrapping paper, boxes and ribbons. We went out to OC for a couple days and celebrated with both of our families.

Our good friends the Pardue's invited us and the Hsieh's over for a little New Years Eve celebation. We ate tacos had a dance party and played a few games. We were pretty tired by 10:30 so we didn't ring in the New Year with eachother. At 3 am I rang in the New Year with Micah because he has been teething and waking up periodically in the night...my friend Shaina who is pictured up above said to try some Motrin. I tried it last night with him and it knocked him out...woo hoo! Thanks Shaina :)

Christmas

I was thinking a lot over the past few days about our attitude around Christmas time. There is so much build up to this day and all this rush, stress, excitement, distractions. And then the day comes and its really not as huge of a day as we all make it to be in our heads. Its over just like that...I think I enjoy all the festivities during the month and everything that this time is about...JESUS BIRTH. I know I can so easily get caught up in all the hype and even get easily distracted and not sit quiet with the Lord. I felt the Lord really speaking to my heart a lot over the past few days and I felt myself telling Him no with my attitude..."I am on vacation and I want to do what I want to do." What a little child I was...after the day was over I realized and I already knew this but I felt it in my heart and it was real. Nothing can ever fill us or even compare to the closeness that we can have with Jesus. Its the best gift we could ever recieve and its a gift that never stops filling us. We got a tv the other day and I still like it of course but the excitement that I had the day we got it is gone. My excitement in Jesus will never end...its new, refreshing and thrilling everyday. How can people live and thrive without Jesus in there life...I don't get it. I love the need that have in my heart to be close to Him. I have experienced it and I have a strong desire to get back to Him. I just love Him so much and I am overwhelmed with his power to give us this never ending joy in our hearts. I want to be completely consumed with Him and not get too excited or assume anything in this world could ever bring happiness into my life. What a joke it is to think that stuff would bring me joy. I've tasted Jesus and nothing else could ever come close...how thankful I am for the Lord saving me from living a life of trying to find fulfillment in everything but him...it makes me sad to think of those I know that don't have this amazing, awesome, real neverending joy in there life that can only come from knowign and having a relationship with Jesus Christ. The most amazing gift ever in this world is free! Thank you Lord for your Son, the most wonderful gift we could ever recieve.

Caroling from the Stubbs Family

This evening when I took Micah out of the bath I heard a knock at the door. I quickly wrapped up Micah in a towel and went to the door. To my surprise when I opened the door the Stubbs family was standing there and began to sing a Christmas carol to Micah and I. They were great! They also brought some wonderful homemade goodies for Shane and I, and a cozy warm blanket and pajamas for Micah. I praise the Lord so much for bringing the Stubbs family to our home this evening...it was an awesome gift!

This may sound kind of wierd but ever since I moved out here I have gotten closer with my friend Kim who lives in Costa Mesa. I have known her since high school but it wasn't until about a few years ago we started to become better friends. She is someone I think is so courageous and seeks the Lord in every situation of her life. She is married to Victor who is the worship pastor at Calvary where Shane and I had attended before moving out here. They have a boy Matthew that is a little over 1 1/2 a girl Rachel that is 7 months and now one on the way. She came out and visited me and Micah yesterday...we just sat on the floor for a few hours with our kids and just shared with eachother about life the Lord and whatever else we felt like talking about...it was so refreshing. I praise God so much for Kim...she is such a wonderful mother and it is awesome to see how the Lord is working in her life, and the strength He has given her to care for two little ones and now soon a third. I thank the Lord so much for my friend Kim, she is a blessing in my life.

Isaiah's Big Night

On Sunday night Shane, Micah and I went to see my nephew Isaiah in his first play. He did such a great job, him and this other girl were the only kids in this Christmas play. He danced quite a bit and had a couple of lines. It was great to see him in his element. Great job Isaiah!

Staff Christmas Party

On Sunday night we hosted the youth staff Christmas party at our house. It was so much fun to see everyone in our little living room enjoying the evening together. We had Pick Up Stix catered and had a white elephant gift exchange. My friend Charlotte got a gift that Micah couldn't take his eyes off of...a huge Elmo doll...I just might have to get him one :) Well, overall it was a great night of fellowship and thanking the Lord and praising Him for how great and awesome He is!
